I wrote this article in January 2009 to introduce readers to Twitter, the microblogging / social media site. I published it that same month on my old personal technology blog, TechKathy.com, using the WordPress CMS.
I had recently created two accounts of my own on Twitter, and I had done a great deal of research about Twitter leading up to this. I thought the information I discovered might be helpful to readers of my blog, which is geared towards those with an interest in—but not an extensive background in—technology.
In the blog post, I explained what microblogging is, gave a brief overview of Twitter, provided an example post that I had made on Twitter, and detailed my philosophy for using the service. I wrote the text using Associated Press style guidelines, and I also embedded a brief YouTube video with a very basic overview of Twitter.
