I drafted the website plan and wrote the content for the Burns IP & Commercial website in August and September 2013.
Burns IP & Commercial is a boutique law firm, offering intellectual property, information technology, and commercial contract services in Melbourne. The website was launched in September 2013.
As this was the first website for this new business, I worked closely with Owner and Principal Lawyer Natasha Burns to learn about the areas of law she practiced in and her law firm. I also researched these fields of law online to gain a greater understanding of what they encompass and how they are marketed to potential clients.
After concluding my research, I coordinated with Ms. Burns and her website designer to develop a plan for the website, including the an outline of the structure and content of the site. I then interviewed Ms. Burns, and I wrote the text for the initial six pages of the website and their subsections:
• Home
• About
• Practice
• Trade Mark Consultancy
• Articles (the introduction only; not the articles themselves)
• Contact
I provided two rounds of edits to each page of website text, and I proofread the final drafts of each page before submitting them to the website designer.
Although the website has changed since its initial launch, you can still read much of my original content on the Burns IP & Commercial website.
